about

The Band Apollo Hallowell, Maine

Hailing from Maine, The Band Apollo delivers a unique blend of pure rock infused with hints of soul and club-style pop. Coined as swag rock, this signature sound is attributed to frontman Jonathan Johnston's recognizable vocals, Jonathan (JTru) Truman's edgy, eclectic style of drumming, and Ben Packard's creatively subtle, yet assertive lead guitar work. ... more

Track Name: Little Red Dress
Take me down where the river-black flows
Not gonna break, I’m gonna show ya
I believe in the things I been told
Not gonna break, I’m gonna show ya

Cause It takes more than a little red dress to win me over
It takes more
And it takes more than a bit a’ hot mess to make me love ya
It takes more

Shake me down till I find my feet
Stealing away, trouble the water
Bury my soul six feet deep
Stealing away, trouble the water

It takes more than a little red dress to win me over
It takes more
And it takes more than a bit a’ hot mess to make me love ya
It takes more
Track Name: Bad Company
It’s your newest fashion, hiding secrets underneath
Talkin’ like a preacher, but you steal and lie and cheat
And it’s a mystery, of doubt and disbelief
Breaking down the fences, but your still tied to the lead
Everybody say, Hey, ho, ha, hey, ha, Hey, ho, uh, hey, ha

So you take what you want, and you swim in bad company
And it’s not what you thought, it’s a Rolodex of disease

Babe take it off, these burdens that you bring
And watch the clock, cuz soon you’ll be suffocating
Hey, ho, ha, hey, ha, Hey, ho, uh, hey, ha

So you take what you want, and you swim in bad company
And it’s not what you thought, it’s a Rolodex of disease
Babe take it off, these burdens that are suffocating...
Track Name: Take the Heat
Rage consumes the strongest of men
But the weak are the ones who give in
I know it’s hard when you see red

A flame in your fists
And a fire on your tongue
You’re gonna hurt someone
So take a breath yeah, breathe it in

So take the heat
Or take a breath
Cuz bridges burned are rivers never crossed again

So strike a match
Or light a flame
But bear in mind you’ll never go that way again

I know it’s hard to stand down
When all you wanna do is turn ‘round
Take 'em out and drop ‘em down

But see the man who takes a stand
Writing lines in the sand
Don’t be the one to cast the first stone

So take the heat
Or take a breath
Cuz bridges burned are rivers never crossed again

So strike a match
Or light a flame
But bear in mind you’ll never go that way again
Track Name: Over Me
Hello there, have I seen you here before
Are you who I think you are
Is this really the moment all along that I've been waiting for

When I'm here with you
And you're not far away
And I can feel you moving over me

Is this what it feels like to belong with your word resounding deep
And can I begin to start again in the presence of the king

When I'm here with you
And you're not far away
And I can feel you moving over me

You are so good

When I'm here with you
And you're not far away
And I can feel you moving over me
Track Name: Matt's Song
(I don’t know what you were thinking)

If all you needed was a helping hand
Then that’s a lie cuz you had plenty of them
When you’re living with addictions so strong
It pulls you in and you can’t shake it off

It wasn’t okay, wasn’t alright
You couldn’t break free no matter how hard you tried
And it wasn’t up to any of us
We just had to pray and let you walk on down that road that you were on

When you went and you died and you gave your life
To another that didn’t love you back
Well I think that God’s love is too big for us to put in a box
And pretend like we know when you’d left where you’d gone
I don’t know what you were thinking

You had a daughter that you put on hold
You left your lover standing all alone
To drink from the bottle that had torn you up
Cuz you couldn’t stand back from the lines you’d drawn

Well it’s okay and it’s alright
What’s done is done and we all have to accept that it’s a
Hard world, it’s a hard life
And we’ll look back on the one you left behind

When you went and you died and you gave your life
To another that didn’t love you back
Well I think that God’s love is too big for us to put in a box
And pretend like we know when you’d left where you’d gone
Cuz I don’t know what you were thinking

Is there freedom there where you are?
Is there a helping hand strong enough?
Can you find your peace in Him above?
Where you went when you died and you found new life
In a lover that would love you back
Well I know that God’s love is too big for us to put in a box
And pretend like we know when you’d left where you’d gone

(I don’t know what you were thinking)
Track Name: More of You
I can feel it rising up
Close my eyes
Arms stretched wide and lifted above
Feel your Spirit come
From my heart
Deep inside where you’ve made your home

I sing

Come and take my heart cuz I ain’t running from you no more
Come and take my heart cuz I ain’t running from you

I find joy in you
Help me throw down these foolish things just getting in the way
Cuz I want more of you
I want more of you

Come and take my heart cuz I ain’t running from you no more
Come and take my heart cuz I ain’t running from you
